[Brief] Within a four week time period, create a 180° animation as a tribute to the Suffrage Movement 100th Anniversary. Made with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
[About] "Our Voices is a live concert and multi-media experience. The experience combines the skills of the NCSU Music and English Departments and the College of Design. Auidence participants will be invited to use their smart phones to experience a visual companion to the music through VR/AR. The entire concert has been laid out into movements that relate to 10 unique VR scenes." [Scene 1 Proposal] "As a door opens into a parlor room, Elizabeth Cady Stanton sits at a small desk in a room in her house littered with toys, children running through scene, playing around her. Her daughter Harriot is at her feet, pretending to write, mimicking her mother’s actions (which she did in real life.) There is a photo of Susan B. Anthony on the desk. This is true to life and crucial to the Scene 2 transition."
[image bank][My Approach & Challenges] Research & Message: To stay true to history, I used actually photos of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and her children. The background image features the back parlor of Susan B Anthony's residence. The quotes are references from Stanton's Declaration of Sentiment's. Photo editing and Animation: Working with the few photos from this era meant I had to rely on my photoshopping capabilities. After Effects: Creating a VR video is a whole different process than creating a static video. Getting used to the VR software in After Effects was my greatest challenge because I had consider spacial depth and the z coordinate.
